Meknes, the site of the first Arab dynasty established by Moulay Ismail, features the Medersa Bou Inania and the Bab Mansour, the grand gateway to Moulay Ismail’s palace. Day 03 : Full Day To Visit Fes
Following breakfast, the day’s itinerary begins with an exploration of Fes, the world’s oldest continuously inhabited Medina, accompanied by an official local guide. Stroll through the vibrant Medina and its bustling souks, pausing to admire notable landmarks such as the Royal Palace gate and the 9th-century Karouine Mosque and University. The itinerary also includes a visit to the tomb of Moulay Idriss II, the city’s revered founder. A traditional lunch will be enjoyed at a restaurant within the historic Medina. In the afternoon, the tour continues with visits to the Najarine Fountain, the former Harem Garden, and the Batha Museum. Conclude the day with a captivating panoramic view of the city before returning to the hotel.

After breakfast at your Riad or hotel around 8AM, we’ll set off for a day trip to Chefchaouen, the famous “blue city” of Morocco. Tucked into the Rif Mountains just south of the Mediterranean coast in the northwest, this picturesque town is known for its charming traditional architecture. Wander through the medina’s white and blue-washed streets and explore markets filled with unique local handicrafts. A paradise for photography lovers, Chefchaouen offers breathtaking views of the Rif Mountains. In the afternoon, we’ll make our way back to Fez, arriving around 7PM.

Day 5 : Fes - Ifrane - Azrou - Ziz Valley - Erfoud - Merzouga
Following breakfast, we will embark on our journey to Merzouga, traversing the majestic Atlas Mountains and passing through the picturesque town of Ifrane before arriving at the cedar forests of Azrou, home to wild monkeys. This will provide an exceptional opportunity to capture striking photographs of Morocco’s natural wilderness. Our midday stop will be in the small Berber village of Zaida for lunch, after which we will continue through the Atlas Mountains, admiring the breathtaking scenery of Midelt en route to the town of Rich. From there, we will proceed to Erfoud, where we will first encounter the edge of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet, before continuing onward to Merzouga. The day’s journey will conclude with an overnight stay in a hotel near the dunes.

Day 06 : Merzouga - Berber Families - Back to Merzouga
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll head out for a thrilling desert adventure, beginning with a visit to Khamlia, a village home to descendants of Sudanese slaves, where you can soak in their unique music and way of life. Close by lies the lake of Merzouga, a peaceful haven for birds, including elegant flamingos. You might also swing by the nomad wire house, where Berber handicrafts are sold at lower prices than in the big cities. In the afternoon, you’ll hop on a camel with an experienced handler to explore the stunning sand sea of Erg Chebbi. At night, you can sleep under the stars or in a traditional Berber nomad tent, where dinner will be served. Dinner, bed, and breakfast are all included.

Day 07 : Merzouga - Errissani - Todra Gorges - Ouarzazate
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll set out through the Dades Valley toward Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. Known as the “Way of the Thousand Kasbahs,” this scenic route offers endless photo opportunities. We’ll pause in Kalaa M’gouna, the “rose city,” to pick up fragrant rosewater for a lasting reminder of the trip. From there, we continue to Skoura and visit Kasbah Amridil, one of the region’s best-preserved kasbahs. After lunch, there’s time for a hike in the valley before heading to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” famous for its breathtaking landscapes featured in many films. We’ll spend the night in a riad.
The next day, we travel about 30 km to Aït Benhaddou, an 11th-century fortified village once central to the caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh. Set along the Ounila River, its striking kasbah architecture has withstood the test of time. Today, most residents live across the river, with only a few families remaining in the historic site. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, Aït Benhaddou has appeared in films like *Lawrence of Arabia* (1962), *Gladiator* (2000), and *Alexander* (2004). From here, we head west to Marrakesh, the “Homeland of God” in Berber, with possible stops in the Atlas Mountains or a quick stroll through Jama el Fnaa Square before checking in.

Day 08 : Ouarzazate - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Taroudant
After breakfast in your riad, we’ll make our way to Taroudant via Taznakht, with a stop to explore Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, Morocco’s largest. Built in the early 20th century by T’hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains, it was once an important stop along his route from sub-Saharan lands to Marrakech and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. From there, we’ll continue to Taliouine, Morocco’s saffron capital, where you can visit the saffron cooperative. If it’s harvest season, you might even meet Berber families gathering saffron in their fields. We’ll arrive in Taroudant by afternoon, giving you time to admire its ramparts and wander the narrow alleys of the Medina. Known as “The Little Marrakech,” Taroudant was built by the Saadian dynasty, who made it their capital before moving to Marrakech in the 16th century.
