Day 01 : Arrival in Marrakech - Transfer to the Riad

Welcome to the Kingdom of Morocco. Upon arrival, a driver from Africa North Journeys will meet you at the airport to commence your 14-day Morocco itinerary. You will be transferred directly to a charming traditional riad for an overnight stay, situated in the heart of Marrakech’s Red City. After settling into your room, you may wish to explore the vibrant surroundings, visit Jemaa el Fna Square, stroll through the historic Medina, and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 02 : Guided Sightseeing Tour of the City

On the second day in Morocco, the itinerary includes exploring the imperial city of Marrakech with an expert local guide familiar with its hidden treasures and rich history. Today we set off from Marrakech toward the charming town of Boumalne Dades, a 313-kilometer journey packed with stunning scenery and unforgettable stops. About two hours in, we reach the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, perched at 2,260 meters in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains, where we pause to soak in the sweeping views and snap some incredible photos before heading on to Ait Ben Haddou. This iconic kasbah, dating back to the 11th century, is famed for its mud-brick towers, winding alleys, and fortified walls overlooking the Ounila River, and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. It’s also a favorite filming location for blockbusters like Gladiator, The Mummy, Kingdom of Heaven, and Alexander. After exploring and enjoying lunch nearby, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the Sahara and Morocco’s Hollywood, with its mix of desert landscapes and lush valleys rich in culture and history. Its golden age came during the 13th and 14th centuries under the Marinid dynasty, which left a lasting mark on the city’s architecture and intellectual life. Fes el-Bali, the old Medina, still holds onto its timeless beauty, with bustling streets, vibrant markets, talented artisans, ornate fountains, and historic public baths. On this tour, you’ll visit some of the city’s most famous sights, starting at the Nejjarine Fountain, then the Bou Inania Madrasa, the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter), and finally the Al-Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, known as the world’s oldest continuously operating university.
